PDC Problem
Greeting from the X5 world. Looks like our cars share the same PDC sensors so I thought I would post here and see if anyone had any advice.
About 8 months ago, one of my PDC sensors started intermittently failing and eventually completely failed, shutting down the entire PDC sensor. Did the finger test to figure out which sensor it was and I also used Protool to double check- front center left sensor. Buy a new sensor, take it to the shop today to have it installed. After installation, the PDC system is still not working. The shop said all the wiring looked fine but they didn’t have time to dive deeper into the issue today. Checked the fault on Protool and it still points to the same sensor. Tried clearing the fault multiple times but keeps coming back. Any ideas what else it could be? I guess it’s possible the new sensor is faulty. Only way to tell would be to swap it with the center right one and see what happens |

Go here...
www.newtis.info Input your VIN, look up the replacement procedure. They probably missed some steps. |

There really are no steps. Pull bumper. Remove old sensor. Install new one. I did notice the little rubber ring is missing (which certainly could cause problems in the rain) but that shouldn’t have been a problem upon install.

Actually there are steps, if you read more than just a page.
Example, cleaning of connections. Another, and this is a quote; Note! Check correct location of decoupling element on ultrasonic sensor. The correct location of the correct decoupling element is important. Otherwise, transmission and reception will be impaired. You should probably find someone more familiar with the system. You can look up an Indy in your area with this site. www.bimrs.org |
