CarShield Warranty
I received a letter from CarShield for a car warranty. I am wondering if anyone has used this company and what are their experiences with them. They are offering three plans GOLD , Platinum and Diamond. They advertise the Diamond cover everything from power window motor to transmission. They say its like the a new car warranty. They are stated I could get the Diamond Plan for $100 down and $99 a month. I am guessing this is a three year plan. I currently have over 80,000 miles on a 2013 535i. It runs great but I know its just a matter of time before I have to visit the BMW Doctor and have a whopping bill.

I've read a lot of stories about these guys and the way that they aggressively lower the premium while on the phone with you in order to get a credit card and close the deal. I suggest looking into the Route66 extended warranty as those guys appear from the stories on this and other forums to be a reasonable bet when it comes to actually getting claims paid.

You also might want to call your dealer and ask its experience in getting claims paid by this and any other warranty company.

Avoid...do your research and read the sample contract. Some warranties are going to this monthly payment, pay as you type coverage. At 80k you probably will not get exclusionary but there are still better options out there. I got a warranty at over 130k.

I did extensive research on most known warranty providers before I picked up the cuna auto warranty. The Carshield has decent reviews and the cost is compatible. They have more options compare to the others. I think it's a good choice. I didn't pick this one was due toy
wife's company offered discount on cuna. I paid 2700 for additional 60 months and 100k. So far, cuna paid close to$ 7,000 and I paid $750 for the thrust arms oil pans, valve covers 2 actuators. I had my vlave stems replaced recently but BMW picked up the tab. N63 engine. |
