If correct, it certainly explains my difficulties in finding a 2013 M Sport with manual transmission. Mine will be for sale one day, but that day is a long way off.
Only North America got F10, F12, F13 with V8/6speed...

I got them by taken out every Built sheet in the VIN range C271000-C271611 (C271514 isn't built) here is the last 2012 car C271513 http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

650i/6 F12 and F13 is even more rare the Cabrio was built in 99 copies and the Coupé in 53 copies.

Please send a message when the day to sell comes I might be interested.

All numbers include pre production cars some had camoflage.

Regards Stephan

Wow. Pretty clever guy! I'll keep you in mind. But I tend to hang on to cars for a while.

That's good both because I can't finance it for a while and I like it when you really like a car. I have had this one for over eleven years http://www.garaget.org/?car=183408 my other two is runing six and five years by now.

Here is the exterior colors (by there German name) for the 611 made 550i/6 F10:

416 Carbonschwarz: 89st
668 Schwarz II: 78st
475 Black Sapphire: 76st
A90 Sophistograu: 63st
354 Titansilber: 58st
A89 Imperialblau: 52st
300 Alpinweiss III: 51st
A52 Spacegrau: 50st
B90 Sophistograu II: 44st
A72 Kaschmirsilber: 16st
A17 Havanna: 13st
A76 Tiefseeblau: 8st
A81 Tasman: 7st
A84 Milanobeige: 5st
X08 Champagner Quarz: 1st (Individual paint)

The 269st with M Sport Package had the following colors:

416 Carbonschwarz: 89st
668 Schwarz II: 40st
354 Titansilber: 30st
300 Alpinweiss III: 28st
B90 Sophistograu II: 24st
A52 Spacegrau: 24st
A89 Imperialblau: 22st
A90 Sophistograu: 12st

Canada's 27 cars were all except one 2011 models with 12 having M Sport Package including the one from January 2013 which surpriced me since Canada only lists 550i XDrive at the time.

I can do interior and equipment charts as well.

Why oh why would you mess up such a nice car with MT?

A 535i with MT I can understand, but a 550i...??
Mess up a 500+ HP car with a Manual Transmission?! I can't tell if he is being serious or trolling. It is beyond my comprehension as to how a manual transmission would mess up any powerful car. I find automatics and paddle shifts to be boring and un-engaging.

So what if an automatic can shift faster or smoother than me...it is boring.
Agreed! I will never buy a car with an auto.

Hi BoulderBill,
Quick 2 questions:
is your 2013 550i 6 speed manual 407hp or 445hp?
Do you have any regrets getting manual over auto?
thank you!

Hi Edgar,

I already answered your pm, but mine has right at 400hp, and I have been delighted with the manual transmission. No regrets at all.

I don’t own 550, so I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post here .

I do get both sides of the argument and understand talk about size and refinement of 5 series, and get why people argue that manual is simply not needed here. Better performance, gas mileage, smooth(er) gear changes and everything else said about fantastic, simply fantastic automatic transmission that’s in these cars. This is of those, "Beatles Vs. Rolling Stones", "Blondes Vs. Brunettes" , "records Vs. digital files"… etc… etc… there’s no right or wrong really, just personal preference.

However, for those like me, who love driving manuals, no matter how good (and again, this is stunning good 8 speed AT) it’s just not quite as satisfying to drive as (also quite good) manual transmission. For me, this has nothing to do about 0-60 or gas mileage, it’s simply about personal preference, “driving involvement” and satisfaction I get out of it.

Sad to see most manufacturers are taking this option away. I get we’re in minority (especially in N. America) and soon will have to move on, but for me, this is one of the reasons I’m not driving A6 today.

Ginger vs. Mary Ann?

I'm dating myself with a Gilligan's Island reference I suspect.

Couldn't agree with you more triple B.

Took my 11' 550i RWD out of hiding today as its not snowing for a few days. I've only owned the car about a year, and my now winter car (e46 99' 323i) which i've owned for 12 years with over 300K miles on it is a manual.
I really wanted my 550i to be a manual after driver the 3 for so long. Its not fast but its fun to drive. I thought I would miss the manual but that 8AT trani really helped me with the "Lazy" transition! I love it, and never thought I would say that. I have felt other auto trani's before, but this, is something else!.

If I could still get my f10 in manual would I still take it? Probably yes, but am I missing it ? Nah! lol.

My good friend has a Lexus ISF, 8 speed auto, and to me my Bimmer has a nicer almost manual shift to it when you put it in sport mode and give the throttle the correct touch. Some of my boys thought it was manual the first time they heard me pass.

My 2 cents from someone who has driven manual trani's over 30 years.

C'mon you must miss it a little bit ?? (just kidding)

I'm actually in agreement with you on these. Never driven car with AT and said "wow, that is amazing, just amazing transmission" until I tried this one.
Good to read you're happy, it gives those of us who are still stubbornly holding onto these some hope for the future. We might not have a choice but to move on.

Nice photos. I like that combination. Couldn't be more different than my CBM and Oyster.

As the rest of you can see, the manual is not as attractively set up as the auto. More plastic and less wood I guess. The old cupholder issue is worse as well, though either is an enormous improvement over the E39. I actually had to buy an aftermarket for that vehicle to accomodate coffee on the way to the office.

Is that an air freshener dangling off your steering wheel?

The 550xi is the 3rd car in my entire life with an auto. That's out of 13 cars. I also test drove a 550i with the manual as well. i loved the more engaging feel. But honestly, I will have to say the following:

1. I live in the city, it's not fun.
2. Manual + iDrive can mess you up sometimes
3. The F10 is quite heavy and the manual isn't as fun as it should
4. Slower in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile.
5. Worse gas mileage
6. Less gears than the auto

There are some very good things about it that I love:

1. Best antitheft feature today
2. More engagement, more spin, more control
3. Blast to drive through the bends if you have the upgraded suspension
