My kingdom for a Gotdamn BMW ipod cable that works

I had the older 30-pin (with lightning adapter) Y cable that worked fine in my e90 335i. It wouldnt work in my F10 M5 so I bought BMW 61-12-2-408-012 off the internet.........It TOO will not see the physical connection on my iPod Touch........

WHAT

THE

FUCK??????

Im in IT so I know how annoying getting Apple to work with other interfaces can be.....but its a friggen iPod Touch and its a lightening cable.....it shouldn't be rocket science.......anyone have a similar issue. I talked this guy down on EBay to get it, I dont want to return it.......especially if the cable isnt the issue.

Any one have any insight?? Did I buy the wrong cable?

I'm confused. All you want/need is a lightning cable? I have the old 30-pin Y connector that I got with my 2012. If that's what you want/need you can have it.

Annnnnnnnnnnnddddddddd of course the regular ipod cable works. 100 bux later. Nice. If this vendor wont take the cable back then I'm gonna be stuck trying to sell it someone else.

I tried the regular ipod cable in my e90 and it didnt work so I assumed all BMW's needed their own BMW branded cable.

I didnt think to try my lighting cable before buying one. The BMW specific cable I had for my e90 was a 30-pin but I used it with the lightning adapter with no issue (Thats what I was saying earlier). Sorry for the confusion
