Sometime la you just gotta say YOLO and make the move lol. Have to say the ride with the V3 is amazing and now with the sway, I'm sure it'll be a beast when making sharp turns with less body roll. I'm supposed to get mine Thursday and have them installed Friday.

Put my sway bars in and they fit the Xdrive well! Love the feel of them. Really easy install. My shop charged me $50 to install them. Took them about 45 mins total

I received my H&R bars from TunerShop this week. UPS screwed up a little and temporarily lost it, but the TunerShop experience was fine.

For Canadian's reference, I owed UPS about $100 in HST, duty, additional fees (only about $10). I was surprised there was duty, but in the end the delivery/clearing charges on the "Worldwide Express Saver" service used by TunerShop is "fair" when I reviewed the break down.

The product sure seems genuine - full H&R box with pictures of all of their products on the outside, labelled at the H&R factory and apparently still sealed complete with strapping. I don't think I'll hesitate to order from tunershop again.

Now I just need to get time to install. I have the M5/650i pairing now. Hopefully the H&R setup isn't going too far.

I installed mine on Friday.

First I installed the rear only and went for a little drive. It took lots of understeer out nicely.

I was debating leaving it that way (M5 front bar, H&R rear) for a while, but then I was thinking that I might not get another opportunity for weeks to get the front bar on, so I went ahead and installed it too.

With the matching H&R set on I noticed a more level feeling while turning and I don't think there's an understeer problem. (Keeping in mind that I didn't have an issue with "flatness" when I started with the M5/650i combo). I do notice something which is probably due to the reduction of left/right isolation with larger bars - the main tradeoff of stiffer bars. When there's uneven road the car kind of seems to 'dive' into them. I guess my past cars have shown some of this behaviour with their sway setups because I'm relatively accustomed to the feel.

No trouble installing the bars. I'll update another thread I have on DIYing bar installs to add a hint I suspected would work last time. If you're using ramps, use a jack to unload the suspension a little when doing the rear and you'll have a much easier time threading the rear bar in and out of position around everything else in there.

Hi folks, i had the m5 competition front sway bar and 650i rear sway on my f10 535i. I recently turned in the lease and got a 650i GC. I moved the front swaybar over to my 650i, but I still have 16mm stock rear.

My question: do you know if the H&R rear sway bar would fit my 650? I only see it list the F10 and not 6 series, so I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Really appreciate any feedback/guidance

It should. Because people were installing M5 front sway and rear 650i sway on F10 until a true after market upgrade was available.

Hello guys,

I just wanted to share in case some of you would be interested. Currently in term of sway bars we have the choice of M5 / 550d combo or H&R.

Some are going towards the OEM combo because of the cost vs more expensive H&R but have to live with the M5 front swaybar odd angle. Good news for you, Tunershop (which I am not affiliated at all) got the H&R bars (Front and Rear Combo) for only 392$ so less expensinve compared to the OEM combo....

Yes 392$ for the front and the rears! I ordered mine Tuesday and got them Friday the same week shipped directly from H&R Germany.

http://www.tunershop.com/H_R_Sway_Ba...086489_h4.html

Alexander from Tunershop was very helpful and replied to all my questions without a few hours.

I have not installed yet since I will wait until my next oil change due in a few thousand miles. I will post a product review once they are on the car.
Thanks for sharing this info as I was searching for the exact thing. Interestingly enough.. I had reached out to Alexander & he told me that both sway bars would not fit on my 2013 535i Xdrive. Not sure if there is a big difference between my car and your 2011 (though you have msport).. was somewhat bummed. Guess I will have to go the M5/650 route in order to get sways.

Ordered my set yesterday, should be here by Wendesday. This is the 3rd car I'm adding beefier sway bars too and the first two cars handled significantly better with them, and those were "lighter" cars. Can't wait to get these on the 5er!

EDIT - Delivery is now Monday, how is that even possible?!

Sways come in today, probably will install this weekend

Quick question, what are the torquing specs for the front and rear? Sorry if this is stated on the instructions (which may be in German?), just making sure I've got all the info I needed before install. TIA!

For whatever reason, H&R has published that the bars are not for X-Drive. Yet, they fit and function on my 535xi just fine.

There may still be a reason unknown to me/us - maybe some load would be too high if we tried to track the car or something like that. You need to mod/trim two of the plastic shields at the front bar, but that's not unique to X-drive.

Hey is trimming the plastic shields a pretty simple step and self explanatory? Any special tools required? Also do you mind sharing the torque specs you used for the front and rear bar? I checked the "instructions" (more like one pager with a couple lines saying use the service manual) last night and it didn't specify either. Unfortunately I don't have the service manual so hoping someone who has installed could provide input.

Don't trim the liner under the bar is in position with the wheels at full droop. Very little material needs to be removed so trim as needed after its all back together.

It was a 1/2" wide crescent about the diameter of a silver dollar on my car.

I could look it up, but I'd venture to guess somewhere between 75 and 90 ft. lbs. on the big front bolts. They are locking bolts that are rough to turn anyway.

Rears are much smaller, bolts M8 I think so maybe 30.

When you work on these cars so much you get a good feel for what is right.
