So I've been back n fwd in service for CEL & hesitation. Of course they could never duplicate issue, this time I get a message from S/A saying there's Scoring on cylinder head & a new one is ordered and will be replaced... this really scared me because Scoring is caused by defective piston or broken rings. Once they open the engine I feel nothing will be the same for Longterm. Just emailed LemonLaw

Anyone ever witness this issue?
"14" N55

I imagine they are talking about scoring on the camshaft journals but you've provided little to no actual useful information upon which to provide a professional opinion.

Pistons and their rings do not interface with the cylinder head.

Replacing the cylinder head on a N55 isn't a big deal, and if its done by a competent technician you're unlikely to have to revisit the work.

Gotcha. I'll definitely show the report once I receive it

It looks like they swapped parts on from a known good car as part of diagnostic procedure. This is standard operating procedure when its available to allow a technician to rule out possible variables and narrow his diagnostic scope as tightly as possible in the real world where a computer doesn't just give you all the answers like clients think they do.

It sounds and looks like he did good work getting your complaint addressed and covered under warranty...

Quit your complaining.

You realize this is common practice and is perfectly ok.
The tech was just ruling out that part being the cause of the fault.
Most likely they returned your old parts back to the car anyways.
You should be happy you got a competent tech that chased down your issue.

You 100% right. Lets see if I can make it come back . Maybe I'll get a new brand N55 motor next time.
