Drivetrain Malfunction. Drive Moderately. Maximum Drivetrain Output Not Available.
I was driving my car to work, a 10 minute drive, it was a cold morning (20s F) and I decided to push the throttle a bit on a curvy road. I was going about 50 mph on a curve when I felt something kinda off and then immediately I got the error message "Drivetrain Malfunction. Drive Moderately. Maximum Drivetrain Output Not Available." I am pretty sure it went into "limp mode". It did not go away after I restarted the car.
I could barely touch the accelerator anymore, the car was jerky and a stalled. Very low power was being delivered and it wouldn't go over 5 mph. I got it towed to the closed mom and pop shop ( I live in a small town and cloest BMW dealer is an hour away), the guy said that its a cylinder 2 misfire, and replaced the spark plug and coil, but didnt fix the issue. Its still in the shop What could the issue be? Why did it happen? What costs am I looking at? Will the other cylinders get affected now? I drive a 2013 535 xdrive msport. its my baby and I really miss it. never had an issue like this before. Last edited by sjandhy; 01-16-2019 at 10:06 AM.. |

The last time I had that same issue the paperwork just said there were misfire codes and they did a fuel adaptation something like that and my issue was resolved.
FYI my car is a 2013 528 xdrive msport |
