Restore / Recondition Steering Wheel Leather

Anyone use any particular products to maintain their steering wheel leather?

Mine looks good, but the leather needs a little tlc; minor wear (fraying, maybe)?

Best way to describe it is that minor slivers that should be smooth leather, look more like suede.

Many would say it still looks great, but I’d like to restore / recondition it a bit so it doesn’t get worse.

Sorry I don’t have pictures now, as I just dropped off the car at the dealer, but wondering if anyone’s worked on same before.

Thanks!

The leather BMW uses on some of these cars is absolute junk. The dye, the actual leather itself etc, within 2 years or new many of them look and feel awful.

I just sent a spare wheel out to be recovered in OE style with premium leather.

I haven't seen any fraying on my e92 or f10 wheels previously, but the PO's detail shop LOVED Armor All . I needed to clean them off well.

To clean and condition wheels back to new-ish, I use diluted OPT Power Clean to remove oil/dirt. Then I use OPT Leather conditioner to protect/condition. This method by chemical guys works well
.

If you don't mind sharing, who did you send the wheel out to and how much did it cost?

I'm also disappointed with my F10 steering wheel as the dye has faded on the top. Please share where you can get a steering wheel redone. I may try to clean and re-dye mine but I'm not that hopeful..

bumping old thread. Where did you guys get your wheel redone and how much? I'm assuming it cheaper than just buying a new wheel?

Leatherique rejuvenator and cleaner is all you need. You think it's faded. It's not.

Did mine today and I'm shocked. Shocked.
