Silver Bullet - About 3 Weeks In
Since I was a teen I've been a long time lurker of the forum, always dreaming about getting a BMW and building it out just the way I want so it's uniquely mine. A month after my grandpa passing I was able to finally buy the dream car I've always wanted and talked to him about.
I've actually had the car for a while now but did all these mods within about 3 weeks of purchasing. Would love to know what y'all think and any other ideas you may have that I could do! Mods: - Front reflector delete - Carbon fiber front lip - Carbon fiber rear diffuser - Carbon fiber spoiler - Straight piped & burnt quad exaust tips - Satin black rims - Calipers painted burnt orange (subtle ode to my alma mater University of Texas) - Replica gloss black double slat kidney grills - Radar detector wire tapped into the rear view mirror - BMS spacers 12mm front 18mm rear - BMS intake - Red start/stop button - Plasti-dipped side chrome accents & side mirrors - Satin black vinyl on the chrome door handle accents Also based out of Houston and would love to meet up with any other members in the area! |

Looks great! since you asked what else you can do here's my .02$ LOL! I would finish it off with a pair of carbon fiber mirror caps and carbon fiber side skirt extensions and you're golden!

Looks really clean! Shout out to UT Austin - my alma mater as well! Hook-em horns! Also used to be in Houston for a while.
How are those spacers? Are you on the stock 704 M-sport suspension with the staggered 351M wheels? Is 12 mm in front and 18 mm in the rear too aggressive? Debating whether I should go 15 mm or 18 mm in the rear.

Much love to everyone that's got their horns up!
The spacers have been awesome, definitely not too aggressive at all IMO, edge of the wheels sit just about flush with the body. I'll try to get some pictures this week if possible while the sun is out to get you an idea. When these pictures were taken the spacers hadn't gone on yet nor the tires upgraded. I am running on the stock suspension and staggered 351M wheels as well - actually beefed up the rear tires to 285 Hankook V2s on the stock wheels. The wider tires + the rear offset specifically not only gives it a super athletic stance, but the grip and sharpness of the car in turns just have an amazing feel. The only other thing that might look better from the back may be JLo 10/10 Recommend 12mm fronts 18mm rear **I do need to get with BMS for lugs even longer than the extended ones that come with the spacer. The lugs only reach about 1/4 in, and I have had some issue with them keeping their proper tightness even after double checking that their torqued properly** (If anyone has any input on this or a contact with BMS regarding this it would be much appreciated) Quote:

I had the front lip and rear carbon diffuser installed at the same time I straight piped, so I wasn't present for the actual installation. I do believe there was a little bit of shaving that needed to be done. If you really want to get down and nitpick it's not 100% flush in the corners, but not enough to bother me or even notice under direct sunlight.
I'm actually considering ordering another just because there are some "learning marks" now as I was getting adjusted/remembering that my front end was now lower. Several entryways to parking lots/shopping centers/restaurants around the Houston area can be extremely steep as well. |
