Jerkiness Upon Moderate Acceleration

Hello,

I have experience another problem with my 2012 535i xDrive that I've noticed over the past half year but never bothered to research further until now.

Upon moderate acceleration from any speed, I would feel jerks/hiccups. At first, I was thinking that maybe it was the xDrive system trying to get traction but I realized that I wasn't even accelerating hard!

This definitely doesn't feel good as it isn't smooth at all. If I exaggerate this feeling a little bit, it sometimes feels like I'm getting kicked in the back - definitely does not feel right.

Anyone else experience this or know if there's an issue?

Whoops, forgot this piece of information.

Car is at around 34,000 miles or 55,000 kilometres.

I have similar transmisssion shifting jerkiness at lower gear. Even when decelerating as well. Problems seems to come and go.

One thing I read was to reset transmission adaptiveness...it seemed work a time or two. Sometimes wouldn't work. Try it and see.

Hi,
struggled with these symptoms since I had the car. A F11 built 2012. Engine is a N52B30AF with the 8 speed auto and DME MSV90.

Car hesitated, jolted, surged.... resulting in unpredictable sensations esp. noticable at low speed/low rpm driving.

BMW (not the dealership) insisted this driving behaviour is normal and nothing could be done.

Ultimately I had to discard the car. The new Audi
is not as beautiful, but drives sweet and smooth.

I am having the same jerkiness upon moderate acceleration with my 2012 535i xDrive.

Has anyone got a clue on what is wrong?

Hiccups/jerks when accelerating

I just brought my 2012 535 and I'm experiencing hiccups/jerks when I accelerate.

I'm afraid a dealer sold me a lemon.

Do anyone think it's the turbo?

Apparently there's a huge dme update that fixes this through adaptations. Some claim it fixed all issues. Found a couple links on Google for this.

sorry for not updating this post but the issue as per original post was resolved.

in my case, it was something to do with the xDrive (transfer case related) system. i can't remember exactly but it was all replaced under warranty. it now drives as smooth as butter under any throttle loads.
