Looking at at 2015 528i

I'm looking at a 2015 CPO 528i with about 25k miles on it and 1 year left on the warranty. They want about $32k for it. Seems a bit high but it has the following Options/Packages:

M Sport Package, Premium Package, Lighting Package, Driving assist package, Sport Automatic Transmission, and Heated Front Seats.

I intend to buy an extended warranty for it as well. Haven't decided where, though.

After researching a bit I'm starting to lean towards getting a 535d, but this car seems to have everything. I'll try and post a picture...

What do you guys think?

Thumbs up I partial to the 528i

Only because I have just recently purchased a beautiful black on black 528i with 29000 miles for a cool 24600 with a warranty still applied and I love it. So much I’m here looking for performance parts! I’ve got the bug I guess?

I got my 2016 CPO 535d with 31K mileage for
$33K from $42K with 4 pckages included and warranty til 2020. Can you negogiate with them to lower the price a bit-maybe $30K?
I negotiated mine for about an hour and they
agreed. A good deal for me....

What year was it? 2015?

Not a bad deal. Did it have the Msport package?

Nice low miles but the price seems very high. Not sure where you are in CA but a CarGuru search in SoCal shows 2015 528s in low/mid $20k.

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...sModified=true

535 would be higher.

The vehicle I'm looking at is a CPO and has Msport, Premium, Lighting, and another package I can't recall right now. Some of the other sites I checks said it's a "good deal" albeit on the outer edges of it.

Thanks!

If you're looking at mpg I would get the 535. The mpg difference is pretty negligible considering the ~22% power increase.

I was thinking of that. It has the straight six, correct? Are you happy with it? I test drove the 528, with the 4 banger, and it was ok, but in all seriousness, my wifes 3.5L Altima has it beat easily. I liked the one I test drove because it had a lot of the packages I liked. It might be difficult to find the same thing in a 535.

But you are really happy with yours? Might be worth me to continue to look around.

Cheers!

535 is 300hp vs 240hp for the 528. The 528 can move but it's much louder when you put your foot in it.

I got my '14 CPO 535 for long trips and the six is effortless passing on the highway. I agree it's not easy to find them loaded with packages. I found mine 400mi away with lighting, DA+ cameras, Headup display, contour nappa ventilated/massaging seats, HK sound, side blinds, power rear blind, and ceramic controls. I wanted Active Cruise but couldn't find any in months of looking.

I see you are in CA. The first thing you ask yourself in comparing the 535 with the 528 is whether your daily driving gives you any opportunity to use the extra power. I live in Tampa with a lot of old retirees, and that extra power to merge safely is necessary --- don't get much chance otherwise to use it except for a brief burst of the "cat crazies" every once in a while but having it available is worth it.

Also, as you are in CA, I would think you could find what you want easily somewhere in CA. Use the internet, or if you have a sales person you trust, give him your wishlist and let him look

Yes, straight-6. Yes, VERY happy! BMW have a habit of underrating their HP/TQ numbers so both engines should produce more than advertised. Then there's what my dad told me many, many years ago; there's no replacement for displacement. We got back recently from a 5600+ mile road trip/vacation. I NEVER wanted for power and the car returned a hand-calculated over 32mpg. I never considered the 4-banger but did the V8. After reading about all the problems the V8 had (my SA says they're starting to see the same problems with the N63TU) and since BMW have been making the straight-6 for longer than I've been around, I gave the 535 a try. The straight-6 is also as smooth as melted butter! Haven't looked back! I liked the 2012 535i so much I added a 2014 535i to the stable.

Drive the 535 and you'll be sold. I did have to travel from San Diego to Santa Ana to get the car, but I would have traveled further. One-way train trip and a road trip back home... PRICELESS!!

I concur. Test drive the 535 and you’ll be sold out. I drive tested both models and i picked 535.
One of the reason is my daily commute to wrk.
I drive 65 miles round trip everyday and Only fill
my gas tank every 12-13 days now. I save a lot of $$$.....

I love Tampa. I used to live in the Destin area...

I wouldn't use it as a daily driver. I go on long trips quite frequently and would use it then, or when driving along the coast.

There are a lot of cars out here, but I guess I'm being too picky and want one with too many options. The 528 I'm looking at has everything except the power. So I might have to settle. They are asking a little too much for it as well...

Two 535's only two years apart? I guess you do like them. Six cylinders has always been a good bet.

Well... Our previous cars were 2 2006 Lincoln LS. They were pretty much an American BMW at the time. But as Lincoln/Ford had/has no vision and even less patience they let the LS die on the vine (they made less than 295K cars in a 6-year production run). It was a kissing cousin to the Jaguar S-Type. When Ford started breaking up the Premier Auto Group (Lincoln, Aston, Land Rover, Volvo, Jaguar & Mercury) in 2006ish the writing was on the wall. When I discovered I had the last 4 factory shocks (they actually were the best) I knew I needed to sell one of them. That's when we bought the 2012 (I "settled" [few options] as it was my foray into BMW land). When I discovered NO interior parts and few other repair parts were available it was time to part with LS #2. That's when I got the 2014 and got the options I wanted. Honestly, I LOVED that car! Handled like a dream (I chased a motorcycle and 2 Mustangs into the turnouts on Hwy1 north of Hearst Castle as they were too slow!); even auto-crossed it a time or two. There's a good chance I would still be driving it had it been repairable.

That said, even though the cars are separated by quite a few years, the BMW is a much better sorted car. Having been on this side of the fence, I can't ever see myself going back.

I see you're from Cali too. I'm farther north than you. I still haven't tried "The Snake" here on Mulholland. Always too busy it seems when invited, but I've been up and down the coast many many times in cars and on bikes. Has to be one the best places to ride or drive in the world. From San Francisco to San Diego... Indeed....

Yeah... Mulholland is way overcrowded! Too many people have discovered how fun it is! Same with the 78 here to Julian. Furgetaboutit on the weekends. So many people have discovered the fun roads around here they're making them no fun anymore.
