Water accumulation and drop from the top of the door

Hi!

Got an issue on F11. After it rains, water accumulates on top of the rubber seal and the car body. It does not fall down until I open the door. When the door is open, water drop down to the seat. The issue seems to be on all four doors and the rear passenger is the most serious. Also, when the temperature drops and the water freezes, opening the door is a real challenge as the door is glues to the car with ice.

I suspect it is due to the part I showed in red, where the water leak inside. I found a guy asked exactly the same question before. No solution though. Anyone here had similar issue or know how to deal with it?

Thanks in advance!

As I mentioned in the other thread, seems to be random. Not got any worse, (or more regular), over time in my F11.

I'm still minded it can happen more often when the felted strips get wet ahead of the issue, (door open in the rain is suspect), or there is some contamination on the strip. With damp or wet felted areas, it does seem water tracks more easily to the inner door seals.

I take care to ensure the felted seals are clean when washing the car, no treatments, simply wiped over with a micro cloth.

BTW, the angle and inclination when parked, does make a difference to whether any water sits on top of the door, or drains to the bottom of the door seals.

Thanks for the reply!

I took some pictures of different parts of the felted strip of rear passenger door, please take a look. I also wipe it with a micro cloth whenever I find it is wet.

Regarding the angle, I think it should not be the case for me as I just parked on a flat road. And I found the water sits on top of the door.

Just had a look and magnified the images. Does look as if the felts are worn, particularly the first two images.

I gave my F11 a quick wash just yesterday and the felts look in good condition, more consistent across the whole felt than your examples do.

Is the felt worn right away, at the flattened sections, or do you think they may "brush up a bit" with a clothes brush, or something similar? May be worth a try.
