Hello everyone,
Today I purchased a used F10 sport steering wheel with paddles to replace the one without paddles that is currently in the car. I was hoping that as soon as I remove the airbag I would be able to see the part number and confirm that it fits on my F10 using realOEM.com but I couldn't find the part number. The inside of the steering wheel has many numbers and letters but when I google any of them or even use them in the website nothing comes up. I am worried that the one I got has lane keep vibration feature or other features that is incompatible with my F10 and would throw codes after installation. Can anyone help? I attached an internet sample of the steering wheel as well as what I think is related to the part number from inside of the steering wheel. Thanks. |

BMW part nbrs have 11 digits (XX XX X XXX XXX) with no hyphens (just like you see used in the online part database sites like realoem.com or bimmercat.com etc.
You can also use the last 7 digits of the part number (x xxx xxx) and on small items, sometimes you will only see the last 7 digits due to space limitations.

thanks a lot for your reply. I have already installed the steering wheel and coded it to the car. All seems to work beautifully with no errors. The thing is that I tried googling every number I saw on the inside of the steering wheel with no avail. I even searched the numbers on realOEM.com but nothing came up. All it matters that no codes are on the car after the swap.

I just did a search on eBay for an f10 sport steering wheel…I found an example that shows the BMW part number. In this case…it was the last 7 digits that was on a label that also had BMW printed on the label (part number 9-229-483. Perhaps this can help someone else in the future.
