Adaptive Transmission - paddle shift influence?

Curious if forcing the car to shift using the paddles helps change the adaptive transmission? Hoping that over time the car will learn to do it on its own.

I find my car requires too much peddle before it will shift. To the point where it will either not downshift or down shift 2 gears and rockets off.

I've read about the reset procedure and I will try that also but it seems like a mix of whether it actually works or not.
