Definitely in on one. There is no good intake solutions if trying to install PR coils (not the BMS one). Better flow, clear the clutter on the top, easier to access stuff.

Lots of benefits

Hopefully don't have to cut up a lot near the front, and keep the chassis bar.

I have requested access to the group but they are asleep I think. Can anyone please post what info they had on this new intake? I've been super busy at work but I'm about ready to tear apart the front of my car to build one of these right.

That definitely doesn't look like a good place to pull air from. No ducting, and kinda close to the turbo. I wouldn't be surprised if locating it there raises your IAT by a couple of degrees.

Bah, that's what Meth is for! But I'd still rather go to the front of the rad behind the grill!

Another idea I was considering was using a air scoop that attaches to your engine tray / cover with a hose that goes up to your BMS open air filter.

Obvi I went with the short ram.

This is what i got from Pegasus racing

https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...p?Product=3629

Never did anything with it though.

I have been considering building a small airbox in the open space where that filter is sitting in the spool picture. Turbo pipe to box directly, then the front of the box is ducted to the front bumper opening. I might try and mock something up soon.

If you just want the filter sitting in that space, I dont think IATs will be that bad. In fact, just run some ducting from the bumper to the filter area. I have a custom open filter, and it pulls air from the stock front intake ducts. My recorded IATs have been slightly better than stock, and never worse...I cant imagine this would be much different.

From the valve cover or the fuel breather?

Updates:

Met up with the guys from BPMSport spoke with Bruno and Mike about my custom ram intake. They mentioned that the first step was to flip the heat shield preventing too much air at low speeds. That's what caused the high voltage and the subsequent lean trigger.

So far so good. I'm still testing it and will try more extreme conditions when the situation allows for it. No errors so far. Thanks BPM!

Probably going to get a black shield for low profile.

Did you ever get a MAF/IAT code with that before the shield?

I was getting the too lean code with the shield behind the filter. By reversing it to face the front to block the wind at low speeds I've received no codes far. I'll try it for a while and report back.

Not yet. Soon my friend. Soon.
I'm messing around with a beta PS2 tune for e30 right now.

Questions:
Any data on the tune as far as #'s? Boost, HP?
I'm assuming this is a new OTS map and is taking into account your upgraded HPFP, correct?
What platform are you accessing their tune from - MHD?

Can't wait to see the #'s from your dyno runs you said you were going to do...
