Replacement mirror glass exterior
Hi
Has anyone needed to replace their exterior mirror glass, and if so do you have any recommendations on brand? My mirrors are standard (heated, not folding) and I need to replace the passanger side mirror. I'm not keen on paying BMW dealer, or second hand off ebay a breaker as you can source new but non genuine for for around £10-£15 on amazon/ebay. Thanks |

I've replaced my mirror glass with the OEM European type. I have heated and dimming mirrors. My F10 was not optioned with the lane change warning, and these Euro mirrors are very helpful in viewing blind spots.
There should be plenty heated mirrors on eBay. I would stick with OEM, as they always seem to fit better. I've ordered from vendors in Eastern Europe, for some reason, they are competitively price. That being said, having friends and relatives in the UK, I know the tariffs have become very steep. No experience with aftermarket mirrors, and I do not know of anyone that have installed them. They do seem very affordable. Good luck to you. Cheers! Last edited by John H.; 09-12-2021 at 02:48 PM.. Reason: Added info. |

Thread update.
In the end I purchased a replacement mirror off amazon as I could not justify a BMW mirror given the age/value of my car. The cost was £16 GBP and was a direct fit with a little pushing to clip it into place. Model type: - KYYET Side Door Wind Heated White Mirror Glass With Back Plate For F01 F07 F10 F11 F20 F21 F22 F30 F31 F32 F34 F36 i3 (Left) So far so good, for any US readers - it was Euro spec, and I'm pleased to say heating has been restored. Post winter update.
Now we are in Spring there was an observation I have made over winter which I want to share. As maybe to be expected, the non genuine mirror does not get as hot as the genuine BMW mirror (to touch of hand) and as such is slightly slower to defrost and similary rain drops do not clear as fast. I think overall whilst its heating performance is lower its acceptable given the difference in price for an aftermarket mirror versus a new genuine mirror from a BMW dealer.
