Hi guys,

I am new to these forums. I need help and some guidance in purchasing my first bmw. I have done some research online and watched a few videos and would like to probe another opinion.

I’m looking at getting a LCI model probably nothing past 2014 due to budget. My only concerns between the two models is I’ve heard there are more common problems in the 528i turbo.

Also besides the performance difference this is going to sound silly does the straight 6 engine have a turbo or naturally aspirated. Just because when I saw a few pictures of the engine bay it says twin powered turbo.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Twin powered - just a single turbo.

I recommend 535 if you can fit it in your budget. It will be more reliable and you get more power over 528. My 535 have 317K miles and it’s still running great. Just do regular maintaince and it will last a long time.
