N20 Engine Failure - Engaging BMW NA

So, I posted a thread on my 528i 2012 that a low oil pressure warning came on, and told me to shut the engine off. I did, had it towed, and dealer says engine has seized.

Timing chain guide cracked, starved engine of oil, parts are scored.

BMW dealer is quoting 11K for engine replacement. I am declining. First of all:
  1. We know the N20 engine has been known to do this.
  2. BMW extended the warranty on this, to 7 years, 70K miles
  3. They actually, F10 wide, revamped these timing chain guides knowing this happens

I've got BMW NA involved in this. But I guess the point of this thread is to document this issue on the web (more - because I see it's already well documented), but more to get feedback.

Would BMW execute a buyback? A trade? Goodwill the engine and have me pay for labor?

To me, an engine failure before 75K miles is ludicrous. Sigh.. this is a disaster.
