Just ran out to our local little ponds as my mother had informed me the cranes were back in town. Figured I'd likely not see them at all, found two of them! The gray/blue wasn't out today but I have seen him, maybe next time.

Every year my contribution to the holiday feast is my pancetta stuffed mushrooms (along with shallots, breadcrumbs and goat cheese). It's a great appetizer, but equally at home along with the ham, saffron rice, and green bean casserole. This year's wine was a 2012 Ten Acre "Jenkins" Pinot Noir

It would be great if they nest, EXCEPT then the refuge would block off a five-square mile area and you'd never see them again.
