Hello,

I'm a new BMW owner that is interested in learning to code. May I get some info on where to download the proper files? I have a cable coming from Amazon.

Hello, Thanks to all on here for the plethora of information and help I received with the software setup. I finally got it all figured out and have coded the car.

I got my ENET cable today, and I have downloaded the e-sys 3.28.1, I also downloaded the psdzdata 61.2.0500 lite version, everything seems to be ready, however so many things come up to my mind before I dare to code.

1. What are Launchers? I have seen many website providing Esys Launchers to download, do I need them?

2. I also found a Chinese software call esysplus, what is that?

3. What is EST token? What is that used for?

4. What is ISTA-P? Do I need that?

5. Before the version 3.27.1, there is a patch coming with the package, and it seems you need to use the patch to make esys work, but i don't find the patch in esys 3.28.1, how come?

Sorry i have so many questions. I just want to make sure i have everything needed in hand

1) E-Sys Launcher provides .EST Token Solution and CAFD Mapping (Corrects Trimmed CAFD Data) to E-Sys, as well as E-Sys "Cheats" for simplified Coding.
2) E-Sys Plus is a similar Chinese Tool, but no where near as functional as E-Sys Launcher is.
3) .EST Token is required by E-Sys in order to invoke the FDL Editor (Make FDL Code Changes).
4) ISTA/P is Dealership Software for Programming (Flashing ECU's) and Encoding (VO Coding) them. E-Sys can do the same.
5) Patch no longer needed as .EST Token Solution is provided by E-Sys Launcher now.

Thank you so much for the answers. I came across some problems while installing E-sys launcher.

1. I installed e-sys 3.28.1 and it went well.
2. I then install e-sys launcher premiere, and it went well too.
3. When i started e-sys launcher, the program prompted me for activation code, which i didn't have one
4. I jsut followed the instructions and sent an email to TokenMaster, but still got no reply
5. Can i just run e-sys 3.28.1 with token that was generated by token generator without launcher

No, you can't. You must use Launcher to validate that the token. E-Sys won't do it by itself. Thus, you must wait on Activation Code.

I want to code blinkers in HUD and "Auto-on high beam assistent".
Do i have to code all this parameters to it works normal?
And is brake force correct for EU roads?

You only need automatisch for HBA.

For HUD, yes, you must code KOMBI and HU_NBT.

For EU BFD, enabling is the same; but should be on from factory in EU vehicles with a few different parameter settings.

I took the lazy route and got Carly. I was able to get done 99% of what I wanted done.

Video in motion? Check!
Disable Auto Stop/Start? Check!
Disable iDrive Warning Msg? Check!
Disable Backup Camera Msg? Check!
Enable Comfort Mirror Folding? Check!

The only other thing I wasn't able to do and I'd love to know if it's possible is enabling auto parking brake. I sorely miss this feature on my MB. I didn't see a mention of it in the coding guide. Anyone know if it's possible?

I have not seen coding to enable auto-E-brake, but it will engage automatically if you use Auto-H. It auto-releases as well if seat belt buckled.

Blank target only means one thing--you either forgot to download PSdZ or you extracted/installed incorrectly.

Outdated PSdZ results in "not found [C012]" errors when "Read Coding Data" & vehicle I-Step is > computer PSdZdata.

Bad cable will make it difficult to connect via VIN, but target window will still be populated.

The cable is fine because on the other PC it works properly. In this Laptop has put the latest data...
