Fault codes (EGR?)

Hi all,

Driving a BMW F11 520D from 2014. The last two weeks I've had two drivetrain errors pop up while driving. They stated that driving was possible, but onluy limited power was available. Then after 30 seconds the message would just dissappear. I didn't notice anything in the way the car drove at all, so I decided to read out the car fault codes via OBD. These are the 3 errors that popped up:

255C00: Exhaust gas recirculation actuator, position control: valve too far open / negative deviation
2B5700: Coolant temperature sensor before EGR cooler, signal: open or short circuit to positive
244C00: Boost pressure control, control error: boost presure too low / positive deviation

It seems all of these 3 are related to the EGR, but I don't know what the next step would be. Thinking about replacing the EGR, is this something that you can do yourself? Based on earlier experiences, I'm not too keen to go to the dealership. What would be your suggestions?

Thanks!

Its worth to check with dealer, may be your car is under the recent EGR recall.
They might change the whole EGR unit
BTW are you doing mostly city and short distance? If thats the case it causes all sorts of diesel issues

Sorry for the late reply. Will check with the dealer.

Some city driving but at least 4 times a week 50km one way trips on the highway.

I managed to replace the EGR valve for a new one. The old one was definitely poluted and seemed to be sticking. However, I got a new drivetrain error while driving and the 255C00 and 244C00 error codes appear to be back again. What can I do next?

Any suggestions what could cause these errors, apart from the EGR?

It might be vacuum leak. You'll need to do a smoke test.
