Updates on performance and sound, not if they are still for sale :-)

Was hoping for some more info from NJGQ on his install and whether the car performs any better / lower IAT's... any data is better than none.

Most customers use the forum to decide but don't post on here sharing their feedback.

We have sold 25 units since the start of this thread, with no complaints.

I just installed this on my car I shined a light where the cone is and looked for the light outside the car. I can't see anything. How does air get into that box?

You need to remove the cover for the air intake on the passenger side of the car. You can then install the air channel that the N63 uses for that side to help direct airflow a bit better.

Have you installed this like that? Curious to see pictures if you have.

I've done a MST-like intake

https://f10.5post.com/forums/showpos...postcount=2674

I'll post pictures later of the ducting for the front grille, but relevant part numbers:

13717577468 (grille/velocity stack like thing that helps air get in to duct)
13717577470 (the actual duct)
11617535849 (screw securing duct, I just transferred the screw that was on the driver side over to the passenger side, but your call)

There is a blanking cover that you remove for the passenger side. I then used that to blank out the intake on the driver side (and secured it with duct tape, since it's not actually meant to fit that hole). You don't have to do this, and can leave the OEM intake as a way to cool the turbo/manifold area, but I am unsure how this changes the fluid dynamics of air in the area (since you have a higher pressure zone of air BEHIND the intake now), so I didn't risk it.

Additionally, I chopped the OEM intake duct that included that accordion-like section and used it to direct the air upwards slightly and more directly at the cone. Pretty optional and idk how much a difference it makes.

Any pics of the duct you made? Thinking about doing the same thing when the intake arrives. Thanks

Pictures of the duct, using part numbers as noted above

Pic 1: Showing how the duct roughly runs

Pic 2: The original opening that has now been blanked off

Pic 3: The new opening. I added a scoop - not necessary, but also probably doesn't hurt

Pic 4: The exit

Install is easy-ish. Just take your front left grille off, and reach inside to position the various things. Duct goes in first, kind of need to force it but eventually it kind of just falls into place and can jangle around. Then, you put the velocity-stack-thing in via the grille and need to clip the two together. This is probably the most annoying part. There's a little tab on the duct that needs to go into a hole on the "wall", and then the velocity-stack-thing clips into the duct, holding both pieces together and still. Then you tighten down the screw (you can see said screw in pic 1 - it's the pan head looking one directly under the silver metal bar) and viola, ducting. The upward turning bit is the original airbox's connector that was chopped off and forced onto the duct and secured in place by some crafty duct taping.

Hope this is helpful
