Why should the number of owners make any difference? Four owners is quite reasonable. Mine had four owners when I bought it.

Cars like these regularly have more owners than 'normal' - people buy them, and then find out just how much fuel they go through in reality, rather than the fantasy 'official' economy figures.
When people are expecting 37mpg, and get 30 or less, and fuel costs are 20-30% more than they expected, they tend to move on a car quite quickly |

I have found that the less number of owners the less chances of the car having been messed around with - of course not always the case but I’m going by chances.
Also this particular one (in the link) has several modifications that don’t look good to me, not the exact interior combination I’m looking for, and missing a few of the options i want. I’m going to be keeping the car (very) long term. |

The example you have posted does seem messed about, plus...isn't it priced rather high for the age? Or are the 535i's holding their value quite well due to being like hen's teeth? |

I also thought the price seemed rather high - especially based on valuations Unfortunately however there isn’t much to compare with. |
