heat it up with a hair dryer (heat gun if you have it), then use dental floss to get behind the emblem and remove it. Then use wax to get the sticky part off.

I want to try this, but my concern is that where the "535i" used to be, the paint will be spectacular, thus leaving the shadow of the emblem. One of the downsides to having Jet Black vs. white/color...

If you have this shadow problem, then you likely know that you have a bigger problem. Your car's paint will then need some work to bring the shine back to 'new'. On the other hand, if the shadow is caused by residual wax and/ or dirt that was trapped around the edges of the emblem, then this is easily removed.

Yeah, I guess I'll just leave the emblem on then lol I don't want to open a can of worms (at the moment) if the shadow turns out to be noticable. I may do it when I get time to clay bar and wax.

You are not opening a can of worms, you just need some good advice. Hold on a minute, I need to dig up some pictures.

Okay. I wanted to show you a black Q45 that I debadged, which had the same issue that you THINK you'll have. I can't find the pics but I have a question. Have you watched my 5-part video series on machine polishing?

Not yet, but I subscribed to your post "The Mother of All "How to Remove Swirls & Scratches for Novices" Thread!" before posting in this thread. I wholeheartedly plan to watch all the videos in that thread.

Is your car garage kept of does it live outside? If the sun hasn't soaked it and it has lived in your garage since new, you'll be just fine with what I show in those videos. That polishing procedure will work wonders.

Why'd we bump a 6 month old thread that has like 4 video links in it on how to do all of this?

It's becoming a trend. Just saw a parts thread that's 1.5 yrs old bumped in the FS thread... It's just like...Jeez people.. They search for stuff and never read the dates

The front has 2 tabs and the rear is completely flat. as you can see the emblem to the right is propped up because of the tabs sticking out
