weired RPM drop when shift into reverse
Hi, Everybody. My English skill is bad, But I need you guys help.
I have 2011 528i with N52B30A engine. and mileage is 131,000km(82,000miles) Recently, RPM drops to around 500 when I shift gear from D to R. And Gauge cluster LCD and DRL will black out, also audio turns off briefly. And I have a strange error code related VANOS and ICM. The code is 130308 : VANOS, OUTLET: CONTROL ERROR, POSITION NOT REACHED 480007 : KL30 OVERVOLTAGE What could be causing this problem? Thanks! Last edited by Kimura; 02-22-2024 at 09:25 PM.. |

How old is the battery? What is its condition? If the battery was replaced, was it registered? How's the trans fluid level? Does the rpm drop going from park to drive or reverse also? Was the trans fluid ever changed? |

I've changed Battery last year, and drived almost 10,000km (6,000miles) after replaced it. And trans fluid has been changed at 70,000km (44,000miles) Also, I've replaced rebuilt alternator recently. but no changes. Edit : There's no error on gauge or display. there's only two error codes at BimmerLink tester. Last edited by Kimura; 02-22-2024 at 09:26 PM.. |

私たちの仲間のメンバーの一人が述べたように、高価なものを交換することを決定する前に、検査など、最もお 金がかからない最も単純なものから始めてください。

I never replace original alternator or starter with rebuild ones. I take original one to shop and have them rebuild. Rebuild ones especially bosch alternators are good for a year or two and then back to sq. one.

I had that experience with many an Auto Zone/Pep Boys/O'Reilly's rebuilt alternators. Fortunately, changing the alternator was about an easy 30-minute job.

My money is on the ground connections and or Rebuilt Alternator, with your electrical and gauge cluster flickering like that it could be one or the other, or both.
