Comfort Seats and Air Con w/ extended features
I'm close to putting in an order for an F11 520d. I intend to order "Seat adjustment - front, electric with driver memory" (459) @ £900 and "Seat heating, front" (494) @ £300, making £1200 in total.
Comfort seats (456) are £1,670 or £1,270 with the dynamic package (ZGG). I will not be getting the dynamic package so are the comfort seats worth the £770 over the standard seats? When you add the heated seats (essential for the winter IMO) the total bill for the comfort seats come up to £1970!! Also, does anyone think air conditioning with extended features (534) @ £300 is worth the money over the standard two zone air con? The other options I'll go for are: Imperial Blue Oyster/Black Media pakage (professional multimedia) Black high gloss interior (no cost option) Sport automatic transmission + sport steering wheel 18" V Spoke style 328 Variable Damper Control Comfort Access (my wife insists on this) Ambient lighting (mandatory option with comfort access) Folding exterior mirrors Sun protection glass (for the kids in the back) DAB digital radio USB audio interface Bluetooth telephone audio connection |

Hey..
Comfort seats do also include lumbar support and so that should be considered in your calculations. The best thing to do is actually try them out and there are plenty of 7 series with comfort seats present. On my car, I decided to stick to the M Sport Seats because i like firm support with adjustable bolsters. I have lumbar support on my current car and hardly use it but it is very effective if used correctly. The four zone air con in my opinion is a waste of money. The air will mix very quickly once vented through and any young passengers will find the digital displays/control in the back incredibly fun to play with!! Best of luck! Are you hoping for end of year delivery? |

for 700 on top of the standard seats, definitely yes. 700 on top of sports seats, i would have had second thoughts. so yes, take the comfort seats - remember you are also getting athe lumber support which is also worth a few hundred.

the OP is looking at 2 zone with extended features, not at the 4 zone. There are 3 ACs on the f10 2 zone: standard on 520d 2 zone wiht extended features: stndard or 525d and higher 4 zone: additional cost for 520d (about 600ish pounds) and the rest (about 300ish pounds) cheers

If you have the UK brochure (2010) have a look on page 55. It describes 534 Automatic Air Conditioning with extended features. "Fully automatic temperature control with independent temperature control, air distribution and air volume control for drive and front passenger. Two vents in the rear console. Including Automatic Air Recirculation ((AUC), solar sensor and fogging sensor and auxiliary ventilation. " If it was me I would order this, but not 4NB I agree with SD that's a bit of a waste of time. I think the anti fogging sensor and solar sensor are worth having. I would also order the comfort seats it would be the first option I would tick. They are very comfortable and while expensive I don't think you would regret it. Well worth 525 pounds or so over the cost of the standard electric seats. Hope this helps! Cheers Paul |

You lucky Brits are able to order a lot more bespoke options than those of us in the colonies, who are forced to buy most of our goodies in packages. Now that I've cried my little tears... the comfort seats was one of the things that I had to have, regardless of the ridiculous price. Mainly because the standard seats were so uncomfortable. And I need lumbar support and adjustment.
Comfort Access is great, but they want $1000 for it over here! I had to pass.

The automatic air conditioning with extended features is, IMO, a must have, just for the AUC (Automatic Air Recirculation) system. Was one of the best features in my 540i and is in the current 330d. Can sniff the fumes faster than the nose and switch to internal. Solar and fogging sensors work a treat as well.
As to the seats, if comfort are bit expensive, what about the sport seats as the mid way seat? Much better, IMO than standard seats HighlandPete |

BMW are very clever with the options they have on offer. It makes you want to buy most of them - but I'm already wincing at the cost of the options I already have. |
