How to turn off the auto seat setting

I want to turn off the auto setting for the seat on my 2013 535i. I keep finding myself grabbing the steering when I am getting out of the car and the steering wheel is retracting at the same time. Its a matter of time before the gears wears out.

I don't think there is a way to turn off the auto seat, but I'm sure someone can code it to turn it off, but then it would be off forever..........

Thanks, learning to wait until the steering wheel is finish retracting before I grasp it to exit the car. Just need to change my habits.:

Hit the power button twice n the wheel will move before the door is opened. Had to learn that before I broke anything.

My e39 had a bad habit of returning the wheel to the wrong position so I just unplugged the motor. You should be able to do the same here.
