Vibrations on idle - N47 xDrive

Hi,
I have a small but noticeable vibrations on the driver's seat and a bit on the steering wheel (the driver's seat is worse).
Two mechanics said that it's not huge but they actually feel it so there might be something wrong.

Some info:

- F10 525D xDrive (218hp) - 68k mileage - N47T
- Engine and gearbox mounts replaced to OEM
- Crankshaft pulley seems to be ok on idle (by looking at it)
- Injectors work perfectly (ISTA test)
- idle RPMs are constant at 770-780
- Vibrations disappear after 900 RPM and higher
- Vibrations don't disappear on different gearbox modes (P,R,N,S)
- Vibrations don't exist on the rear seats and are super small on the passenger seat
- Vibrations sometimes disappear for a short time but it's super rare and I'm not sure why (DPF?)
- I'm quite sure that vibrations were much worse in winter (before engine mount replacement - not sure how it would behave in the next winter)
- I did a basic exhaust test - someone was keeping his leg on the exhaust to see if it vibrates but it didn't help lol
- I had EGR cooler replaced 2 months ago
- the engine works ok - it has power and no hesitation on acceleration whatsoever
- No major errors on ISTA (only an error about probably worn out battery - 6 years old battery)

- I've done TestO test (on cold engine):
Duty cycle (red line) I'm 99% sure it's for swirl flaps

the same diagram but zoomed out (these 3 spikes - throttling)

I've spent tremendous amount of time to find a solution and my BMW still vibrates and it's super annoying.
I'll give a pack of beer for someone who finds out what's wrong

No, I did not. I think software update decreased vibrations slightly (could be placebo) but it still not smooth as it is during DPF regen.

When is the last time you checked your spark plugs, Those are 9 times out of 10 the main culprit for vibrations on Idle and disapear after upping the rpm in drive. Start there my friend

Spark plugs on diesel?

You don't have lot of miles on it, but all vibrations on idle disapered on mine after I did timing chain. But mine has 275000km and chain was stretched. Run's a lot smoother than before.

I've had these symptoms on my n57 on and off since 2019 (55k miles) only in cold weather and there were no codes. Egr and cooler were replaced as part of the 1st recall but the symptoms would return sometimes in cold weather. Taking the car on high speed runs always seemed to help.

I then got a check engine and interesting ista code 290b00 (85kmiles) "measured air mass to low". My car happened to go in for the 2nd recall a week after the code. It failed the intake test which is carried out as part of the recall and they changed the intake as well.

The egr/cooler issue can burn a hole or crack the intakes or make carbon build up worse. So my 2 cents is that the intake was to blame. Not had the issue since the new intake and it feels like a new car.

Hello,

Any more ideas?

Changed engine mounts to OEM, Gearbox mount is not changed.

Dealer changed egr as recall, in winter on the drivers side vibration is very noticeable on the seat and steering wheel, passengers side no vibration.

Right now I have +10 and vibration is gone on idle.

140k miles, N47, 525xd, 2012

I had the same issue. Replace battery and alternator is gone now. The alternator must be oem. I try Bosch and it is rubish.

My alternator seems to be fine - it has a proper voltage and it charges the battery although the battery could be changed in the future
