How Does that different from regular cruise control. or is it the cruise control
AUTOMATIC cruise control paces you off the car ahead. Kind like a certain RonCo product... set it and forget it. Normal cruise control just maintains a preset speed, regardless of traffic.

It's relatively rare, especially on earlier models. I had to look forever to find mine.

You can tell which ones have it as just under the front bumper is a the square radar antenna. On the new models is really noticable. You might be able to retrofit if you really want it. My only complaint is while you can adjust the following distance, you can't get more the. About 3 or 4 car lengths close to the car in front of you which means someone is always trying to pull in front of ya. And if someone pulls in fast while someone is riding your butt, it's going to brake check them hard.

Btw I was wrong on what BMW calls it, it's Active cruise control, every manufacturer has their own name for it

I took my engine cover moment I purchase my car.
I took it back to dealer for service they asked about cover I told them I took it off to help cool the engine.

Great thread. I am also pondering the 550xi's.
I had a 09 535xi a few years ago I was going to mod (intake, down pipes, tune) but ended up selling it. Was just thinking of getting another one and modded it now since it won't be my DD but read about the 550i's with the twin turbo (love turbos). I went on Edmunds consumer reviews and see some have issues with the engines so decided to come here and see what the enthusiasts have to say.

Theres a whole thread in the Engine and other Mods forum called 'N63 Replacement Question?'. Horror stories and success alike. Check that out and base your next car off that.
