Not that I'm aware. It would probably throw an airbag code. I transplanted my old airbag into the new steering wheel cover I got from Lithuania. I did a how-to somewhere... Look for something like steering wheel swap.

I was a bit concerned about static electricity. I was VERY careful and did the swap on a relatively humid (about 50%) day. The swap went well and I've had no issues, with an airbag light or at dealer visits, in around 2 years. IIRC I did have to re-clock one of the rings so one of the wires would reach the connection. I thought about cutting and extending the wire, but didn't want to run into any problems.
