Yesterday I disconnect the plug that controls the valvetronic system tosee if anything would change when it turned off and agent into throttle body mode. Nothing changed. Next time I am going to disconnect Vanos and see if that changes anything. If it doesn't then I am going to start thinking that this is more of a software issue

There are different problems that could result in a rough idle for your car including dirty fuel injectors, clogged air filters, bad spark plugs, and a variety of exhaust system issues. If you have already check this aspect then it won't hurt to bring it to the dealer to know the reason behind it.

Could be valves too like previously mentioned... I am getting my sparkplugs changed next week and we going to put camera in to see how valves look at 118k miles. I used to have rough idle where rpm would randomly jump but it doesn't happen anymore, so not really sure what fixed it.

I've changed the plugs 10k miles ago and air filter has been changed. It could either be the coils, injectors, or software. I am not sure I know what you mean when you speak about "exhaust system issues".

at 118k miles, have the coils ever been changed?

I don't think they have been. I currently have Delphi coils on the car and I've heard they are higher quality and last a good bit. I am running a tune so the aging coils could be a problem. I'm probably going to buy FCP euros cool pack kit to get this done since it needs to be changed around this time anyways. If your stock you should be good

I'll just reiterate my prior comment that coils are probably the first thing you should do, since they are still originals at 118k miles especially since you're running a tune.
