My cic is messed up so it's time to upgrade to nbt.
I want to learn how to use ista and program the new zgw for the nbt and possibly next year new headlights.
So guess 1st step is to get a zgw and code it. after it works on my car then will get an nbt unit.. ( get everything working except cic, heard it does not work on newer zgw)

I want to upgrade to nbt evo id6

Question, which zgw should I look for on ebay?

1. zgw 02 mid plus
2. zgw high
3. zgw high plus
4. zgw 4sk
5. zgw 8sk

mid, mid plus, high, high plus, 01, 02, 4sk, 8sk, black body, metal body?
Should be a tutorial on zgws alone.. confusing af



Bought an ENET cable and the USB C to Ethernet Adapter from amazon.
Will download an ista/d.. if someone has a link would be great.

You need ZGW-02 HIGH Plus, also you need to upgrade the FRM for the LED headlights

Correct, is hard to find, but it is the only one that is the right modell.

It’s like a bridge between modules and other components.
You can change some settings with BimmerCode, but others require a pc, and for this even a newer zgw version that support upgrades.

Ok, The central gateway module.. Mine shows a memory fault all the time. I would love to update my CIC headunit/display to a NBT or Evo. I dont like the mmi setup 100% but this seems like a whole lotta parts and work for a radio.

oh btw, What enet cable did you get? I have ista and everything but couldnt pull the trigger on the cable after reading so many conflicting reviews

Yes it's a lot to change from cic to nbt, I will try to learn on the how to.
If not it's a dead project.
