Repainting brake calipers?

A few years ago I used a G2 caliper paint system on my F10 to paint the calipers red. They're chipping pretty bad so I was thinking about repainting them with a different G2 color. Have any of you repainted calipers? Wondering if a rough sand and clean will suffice, or if I need to remove the paint all the way? G2 says a rough sand will work but wanted your input. Thanks.

Damn, that looks good! Especially with gold rotors. Is that G2 gold? Was that the first time or did you paint over old caliper paint?

Garage List
Planning on doing the same with G2 (blue) once the weather cools a bit. DC heat & humidity is unforgiving this days. I have to replace my rear discs/pads so will plan to paint off the car (similar to M539). Already ordered brake line plugs for when disconnecting calipers.
