I noticed this one doesn't have the speed limit sign reading capabilities I don't think. It's usually listed on the decoder website and I don't see it. Below are a couple screenshots of the build sheet for the car and repairs that we're done. Not much since it only has 34,000 miles on it. He said they fixed a couple rims. I think it might have been just touch ups.
I saw one of the additions was ceramic controls which I think is a pretty cool feature. We're going to check it out on Monday afternoon and need to figure out a price point or walk. Last edited by WoodButcher1980; 07-06-2019 at 03:10 PM.. |

My '14 CPO has ceramic controls which is cool but I never would have paid the $600 for it new. Beyond the mocha contour and Alpine 535x that I searched for for 9 months and found 400 mi away, I was just lucky it happened to be loaded with other junk -- all of which I use (except for the 19 RFTs).

I googled for a "2014 f10 5 series pricing ordering guide PDF" (took all of 15 seconds )...and sure enough...says right there that the S8THA - Speed Limit Info (aka road sign detection) is in the ZDB package (the assistance PLUS):

ya assistant plus is the one i want, but its not popular at all until you hit 2016 it seems. im checking out the car this afternoon. with a KBB fair purchase being in between 30-32k, i think 25-26k with fees included is a really good deal. plus tax of course... ill check out the condition and go from there.

Yeah I'm only as married as future buyers of my car will be. So I always like to make sure that it's a reasonable deal compared to Kelley Blue Book since that's all the buyers of a 10-15K car are going to look at by the time I resell it

From Japanese to German.. Should i buy? see pics.
I made the jump from Toyotas to BMW in 2014. I bought a used 2011 535i XDrive with 28k miles coming off a lease. The car was like new. It brought fun back to driving!! I have 90k on it now and still look forward to taking drives!!The maintenance costs feel a little higher but not an issue. If you go the bimmer you wont be dissapointed.

I offered 25k or 27 out the door with tax and the manaher only budged $900 to 27k plus tax and temp tag. The manger felt it would sell between 27k and 27.5k We walked out and will keep looking. Nice car but I dont need to buy this second.

Question... Is the decoder site ever wrong? Reason I ask is u found one that has mocha napa in the photos but the decoder suggests Schwartz napa (aka black)... Plus the pics show comfort seats but they are not listed on the decoder site either

Some suggestions for you to consider: 1) figure out what you’d truly pay out the door (and plan to add $50 to it) 2) plan on 2 more offers 3) next offer is about halfway between his last offer and your max 4) final offer is your max (depending on his response to the previous one) 5) when he responds, offer him your max, but also asking for something extra for them to throw in that doesn’t cost them much, but gives you value (like winter floor mats) 6) after they nickel-and-dime you at the end, tell them you will give them $50 more - “and that’s my last offer, since I don’t like being nickel-and-dimed” It’s sometimes easier to do this via email, because it keeps the emotion hidden. This, of course, only works if it’s the right car for you. As others have said, I’ve also been disappointed when I walked just because I had talked myself into what “I should” pay, not what I have to pay. It may cost you $500 but in the scheme of things, for the right car it’s well worth it. My 2 cents.... |

Thanks Jeff. Technically, its not THE car since i want my cake and eat it too (bells and whistles like DA plus, etc) but it is a very good option. i feel 26k (1k more than my offer) would be my ceiling. ill give it some time and use your strategy with them if nothing else comes up.
There are 2 or 3 that are THE car, but theyre always out of the New Jersey and New York City areas and they are really shady places. they dont like sending carfax, dont like taking extra pics for you, and when ive asked about a certain car they say "its perfect nothing wrong" (add accent...) i called one to ask the out the door price since i read horrid reviews about adding thousands in fees later on in the sales cycle. it was true, they wanted $2,800 in fees to the great price they had. these NJ dealerships do it so they show up on the search results right away, and then tack on the fees. sneaky sneaky. all in all going to the dealer was a good experience though. i realized comfort seats arent really a deal killer if theyre not available. both types of seats are comfy to me... weird i know... i also realized i really like the mocca color, but its not mandatory. it lightens up the interior since there cars are DARK inside. the search continues |

Saw the mediterranean blue color at the local dealership. Man that really looks good with brown interior. Mocha or cinnamon. My favs are now.med blue and black sapphire metallic. And the good news is the stock rims look good in it too!
Here's an example. This whole time I've been looking at luxury and M sports in black, but I think this blue really makes the stock rims look just as nice as the luxury rims. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...aff=share_text |

One of the first M sports that I looked at was carbon black. I liked it. based on reading a few threads apparently it looks really nice but it is difficult to clean. That one that I posted a couple weeks ago with 70,000 miles on it was carbon black.

Honestly I like them all except for space gray. But hey thats what makes us all different. My first post that started the thread 170 posts ago was an imperial blue 528. I was just amazed at the color based on your run of the mill toyotas and the like... But then I saw so many more i liked. I saw an imperial blue at the dealership today and its more more classy than the mediterranean.... I would describe it as super dark navy blue. I would rather have carbon imo.

Side note, what does the luxury package give you over the standard model like the blue one I just sent? I know chrome accents on the fog light area, back bumper has the chrome lines and 19in special rims... But the chrome around the doors is on the standard model too... Anything else?

That pseudo CPO that was 28k with only 34,000 miles on it just dropped a grand on the website. I'm going to offer him 26k plus tax. My last offer was 25k plus tax. So it's in between the current price and my last offer.
I like that black sapphire color, black on sunny and cloudy days, and almost a super dark graphite on only the sunniest days. It also has mocha interior with Comfort Seats, head up display, ceramic controls and adaptive LED headlights. Not a bad bundle! I say pseudo CPO since it's not listed as CPO on the BMW website though it has a remaining warranty. I'm pretty sure that warranty only covers major repairs and not wear and tear maintenance since I heard BMW doesn't do that anymore. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...ff=share_email |
