Has anyone tried these tires before? They have great reviews. Conti DWS006 are only $150 more expensive though.

Today was a disaster. My ACC DXC pump is defective and how the original DXC pump has to go back in for a second time. The seller on eBay is being an ass hat and does not want to return the dxc. Good thing I am just in the 30 day return window so eventually I will get my money back.

Today I finally installed a sport mode switch into my F10. I also managed to break my rear air vent. eBay still has not decided on the case about the defective ACC DXC pump. Hopefully I will not have to eat the $500. I have already spent about $200 popping in and out DXC pumps twice.

Besides the ACC my next project for the car will be the power trunk retrofit. I found a set of power trunk shocks for $80 which was a score. Everything else is relatively inexpensive. I am hoping to be in this for $200-$300 and it will make my car feel a lot more high end.

Looks like it's time to upgrade your rear vent to 4-zone....and your shifter to match your other ceramic knobs....although your HVAC knobs haven't made the upgrade yet either...

If you are working on "up-scale", full leather door cards, and full leather dashboard should be on your list....and given what you've done so far, these would be a simple 3-4 job for you....

....please keep posting!

Heard good about the vredesteins . But I'm a fan of the conti's. And for $150 more I'd go that route.

I had the ceramic knob from my enbt setup in my old e90. I did buy a ceramic climate control module but I found out once again since I have a early build date car I need a special version of the climate control. I am going to be looking into doing at least the leather dash when I do HUD probably over the holidays. I am trying to pace myself since my car is missing so many options I could spend another $5,000 on retrofits.

I ordered the DWS006s but they are on back order until the end of the month. At least it lets me get some use out of these summer tires.

Is 6WB worth it? I talked a guy down to $700 for a one and tonight I found one in a yard asking $600.

$600 is a very good price. You do have to get it virginize before you can make it work properly with your car

There are a bunch of people on eBay that virginise 6WB for $50-$150. I would probably be in the cluster for $700.

I will let you know. I did my 6WA cluster with a r270 but the 6WB might have the newer chip that you need a better tool for. My 6WB is out of a 13 650i.

After a huge battle my 6WB is wiped and coded! Wow what a huge deference. When watching videos on the 6WB I thought it was kind of a waste money but once it is in the car it is so cool. I have an appointment with my local dealer to mount all seasons to the car and it take a crack at the ACC again. Fingers crossed they can get the DXC pump to work.

yes, I thought too that 6WB is not worth it, but it is nice and makes the car look more modern. Also, it is good that it looks different in eco, comfort and sport modes. Some LCD instrument clusters (like one on the new 2 series) looks the same in all modes.
If you upgrade steering wheel and paddle shifters your car can look something like this:

I bought a set of soft close door motors from a forum member for $230. I would like to wire my doors for CA and soft close using a used door harness on eBay. I think I am going to take out the seats in my car and run all of the wiring in the OEM wiring routes when I do all of this.

Thumbs up

Hi Nickco43, you are knocking "mods" on your F10 out of the park, but I am very interested in the reason for the soft close door modification...I have it on my X5///M and honestly I just don't get this BMW option...given that everyone closes the doors normally all the time, the soft close isn't used. The soft close benefit is only realized if you "rest" the door against the striker to trigger the motor to pull the door closed....but all that takes more effort than just closing it normally....

Your answer can be...because you can....but if you have a good reason, that may reveal that I'm using this option incorrectly, I might add it to my F10 too....(I'm running out of factory mods for my F10)...

Another quick question...you installed the center console switch assembly to the left of the gear shifter, which has the "Park Sensor" and the "Down-hill descent" buttons....why did you choose this version? The F01 has the additional "camera" button, or you could have selected the F10 version that has the "Park Sensor" and "Camera"....just wondering.

It's 100% a convenience option. It makes sure the door is closed if your friend didn't quite push the door hard enough, you didn't pay enough attention, etc. Also good for children who don't necessarily have the strength to slam the door yet.

TBH it's also a subtle flex :P

I did the soft close doors because I got a set of motors for $200. Most people on eBay charge $150-$200 per motor which at that price it is 100% not worth it. While being in the door panel for CA it makes sense at $200 to get a bunch of door harnesses with both CA and soft close so I can do it all at once. I really liked soft close on my dads older W221 S class but the door hinges are much better on his car than my car. I would assume the X5 uses the exact same soft close parts as the F10 so I hope its not as clunky as you say it is on the X5. I am the most excided for the power trunk retrofit with the little sensor that you can kick under the license plate and the trunk will automatically open.

As for not getting a fully loaded center console switch assembly I found the one I have now for $30 and I do not have intensions of retrofitting side cameras yet. I live in rural PA for university and I have zero use for them. Now next year if I end up finding a job in this economy I will re-evaluate this when I know were I am going to end up.

Hey Nickco43, I think I'd do the same for my vehicles if I were to get parts at the prices you get them...I constantly scour eBay and other sites, but you seem to get way better great deals all the time...you must be well connected

Without access to newTIS.info, my electrical modifications, after my heated /M stitched, heated, steering wheel will be my last electrical upgrade...future mods will not require wires, wiring or modules, and will be limited to a set of M performance mufflers and stock M5 brakes (for the blue calipers), and the like....

Keep this post active....great mods!
