Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and there is a grey area with the 2014 n55. I hear people saying if it was built before July 2013, you have pwg but after an ewg. I've been trying to figure this out because someone also said it is only true for the 3 series and 4 series, not the 5 series. My car was built January 2014 so definitely after July 2013. If someone could help me out with locating the waste-gate as I'm not sure where to look. I've had the car for around a month now. Any help is greatly appreciated.[IMG][/IMG]

UPADTE

Ok so I just emailed Evolution Racewerks asking if my car would require a 3.5 inch or 4 inch downpipe and they responded that since my vehicle was built 01/2014 it has a 3.5 inch downpipe since 4.0 inch downpipes were being put in 07/2014 bmws. I'm still not sure though, he might've mixed up the year maybe.

Now you're just confusing yourself, wastegate and downpipes are two whole different things. 4 inch DP is indeed 7/14 onward, but EWG is 7/13 onward.

While the wastegate and downpipe are two separate things, in the F10 535i, the switch to EWG coincided with the larger turbo compressor and outlet and 4" downpipe in 07/2014. My 2014 535i is a 01/2014 build and is still PWG. This can be confirmed by the looking at the wastegate and BM3 identifies my car as PWG as well.

This is quite confusing. Everything I've read says my 11/13 build has a PWG. When I go to newtis using the last 7 it shows an EWG.

This is PWG, via the vac lines..

Real oem information is very wrong and mixed up between ewg and pwg for 2014, so be careful when ordering parts for pwg
