bluetooth constantly dropping out
Evening all,
I've recently purchased a 2011 530d. My phone connects to the bluetooth, but it constantly drops in and out. I'd like to update the i-drive system to hopefully sort this issue out, but i can't seem to find an up to date software i can put on a USB. Does anyone have a link for the required file please? thank you in advance |

I had the same issue a while back. I updated the software via bmw website (can be accessed now from here: https://static.bmw.com/content/dam/b...t_en.json&v1.0 ) However, that didn't help. Figured out eventually it was because of the new update on my phone (Android). After enabling developer options and changing the Bluetooth AVRCP version to 1.4 I had no issues. Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 or 1.4 should resolve the issue in general but try it out. If not, it might be another issue.

Guys, dont know will this be helpfull but in my cars, when I bought the car at first bluetooth did work but somethings music streaming was with some interruptions, especially when slowing down/near traffic lights, when there are lot of cars arround my car.
I really didnt know what to do, I did nothing actually , but it improved , in a week or two everything was fine, without those interruptions. As TyTy said, it could be to a mobile phone software, if you can update it. |

I don't know if it would be feasible for you, but my next step would be looking into differences between CIC and NBT head units and maybe upgrading to NBT or NBT EVO(might not be possible on the f10 I am not sure), which might help. I am not too familiar with upgrading the software only and don't know if it's possible but maybe someone else can weigh in on that. The last thing I wanna mention is the Carplay MMI from Bimmertech. (https://www.bimmer-tech.net/category...i-pro-retrofit). Sure, there are cheaper options out there, but these guys update theirs regularly and are supposed to be reliable with good customer service. I have heard only good things about it and have been considering putting one in my car for some time. I just have more pressing matters to deal with rather than Carplay or AndroidAuto ![]() Last edited by TyTyF10; 02-28-2025 at 01:02 PM.. |
