Continental DWS vs Falken fk452

Im about to get a new set of tires 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 for my DPE rims and was told that the continental DWS tires are superior to the falken fk452. DWS are about $150 more for the set. Anyone have experience and can chime in on which is better in terms of handling/tire wear/etc. Or which brand tires i should go with? Also I'm trying to locate shop in Austin tx that can properly mount tires without damaging new rims. Would factory lugs work on new set? thanks!

With those specific sizes you have have a bunch of tires to choose from.

If Continental's are only $150 more then go for it. Falken is coming out with a new tire
which is more quiet then the 452's and suppose to be softer. It was displayed at SEMA.

I've had both and feel the DW is superior over the Falkens in every way.

Ok. Thanks for input. Im leaning towards the DWS for now. Only problem I have is trying to find a local performance shop that will install the tires. Called a place called Soulspeed and they said that they don't mount tires for 20s! Only place I could find that would agree to do it is discount tires. Don't know if I could trust them with my DPEs even though they mentioned that if they scratch/damage the rims then they would replace it.

You can also search the installer list by zip code on the Tire Rack site. Should be some good recommendations there.
I have the 20" Conti DW's and really like them BTW.

Do NOT purchase the DWS's for this car.

I have them on my car and they are NOT at all a good match for the F10. The sidewalls are just too soft and they ruin the handling. The car is wandering and squirmy at speed.

It's not the tires, it's the combination with this chassis. They have done well on other cars, but not this one.

Why are you buying All Season tires in Texas anyway? If you have to buy A/S's, I recommend the Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons.

I have 19 DWSs on my 528. I think they are OK, but would probably do Michelins if I had to buy again.

I had them on my Accord and they were amazing in the rain and snow. When it came to dry handling the tire was soft and would feel squishy, but the wet and snow characteristics made up for that.

I'd recommend the Continental DW (dry and wet). They're supposed to be amazing,.

What are people doing for a spare? Or is that not a concern?

I've had issues (bubbling/lane wandering) and fear of more bubbling with the OEM Goodyear 'Excellence' (excellence my ass).

But my dealer (obviously) won't install a non RFT on the car...

Thanks for info. I'll look into that more. When I first did it. All I got for installers were Firestone and this performance place called soul speed but they said they can't mount 20s.

I was only gonna get A/S tires since I saw good reviews on the tires on tirerack. But after hearing you said they are too soft then I will probably Not get them.

Guess I will have to lean more towards the continental DW and NOT the DWS after seeing these comments. Or go with Falkens.
