Battery register with Bimmer Code / Link
Good day and thank you for reading. I tried to search and just became more confused.
BLUF I am needing to replace my original factory battery in my 2014 535ix. I did get as far as seeing that I needed BOTH bimmercode and bimmerlink (paid versions????) As soon as I started to look at the apps I noticed that I needed a OBD adapter. I actually have JB4 installed with their BT OBD adapter, but I did not see "JB4" in the list of adapters on either app. Does anyone know if one of the listed adapters in the app is the same as the JB4? if not best option to purchase? Also, any other advice to share? any issues doing this with a JB4 installed? Thank you |

The JB4 adapter is just for it and allows you to read codes and clear them.
If you look at the Bimmerlink webpage, they show which adapters work with it (https://bimmercode.app/adapters/) |

+1 to checking out their webpage & listed OBD II Adapters
FWIW, I use the OBDLinx CX. It's a little pricier than some others, but I've never had any issues with it. Very compact, low power mode (I leave it plugged in 24/7) and it's made specifically for BimmerCode/BimmerLink. Their LX model is worth checking out too, but even pricier. https://www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-cx/ |

I have both apps. Since 2018, I use the Veepeak OBDCheck adapter. Purchased it on Amazon. No issues.
https://www.amazon.com/Veepeak-OBDCh.../dp/B073XKQQQW You will use the Bimmerlink app to register your new battery. Yes, both apps must be purchased. |

Bimmerlink: To register your new battery.
BimmerCode: To code the charging parameters for your new battery. Only needed if you change your battery performance specs (i.e. Ah rating) |

+1 for veepeak. I use it in our E93 N55, F10 N63tu and F06 S63tu and have no issues with it ever.
