BMW 528i 3.0 n52 2011 strange sound near engine

Hello All,

does anybody knows what is this sound ? Its starting only after when the engine is warmed up a little bit, and stops when its fully warm. Its killing me, car has 90k miles at this moment.

Yesterday been under the car and have not found where the sound is coming from... maybe somebody focusing same problem? Exhaust sounds an option, but once the engine is warm, you can barely hear it...

Not sure if I heard another noise like this, try opening oil cap with car running you may hear a similar noise coming from lifters. This vid has similar sound. My e90 sounded the same.

BurrNinja's video doesn't show a problem. That's the slapping sound made by the vacuum pump on Valvetronic engines. As much as it might freak you out, it's normal. On N55s, at least, it can also have a squeaky character for the first minute from a cold start, seeming like a failing belt tensioner because you can hear the squeak through the valve cover.

Surly 73, check the sound when i put my phone under my car.. is it sounds normal? Valvetronic sound is normal, but the second sound gives me a worry. Check the vid when i place the phone under the car.

Hi, all the time.

Does not matter which day, cold or warm. Once the engine is getting warmed a bit, the sound comes on, and dissapears once is fully warmed up...
