Smog Not Ready - Fuel System Monitor
About 2 months ago I had a misfire in 2 cylinders and had coils and plugs replaced, CEL reset, etc.. on my 2012 550. Had to get a smog check last month and tech informed I had several monitors in a not ready state. I attempted the BMW drive cycle but haven't been able to complete it in it's entirety. I took it back to the smog guy and now just the Fuel System Monitor is the only monitor not ready, so I'm close. He indicated the Fuel System monitor is one of the easier ones to get "ready" so he's kinda baffled but I don't have much confidence in his knowledge of BMW's. If anyone has had any experience with any portion of this and/or specifically the Fuel System monitor I'd appreciate some feedback as this is driving me crazy.
Thanks! |

Just curious, was CEL reset performed using Generic OBD or you have access to BMW scanner type of tool? If you do have access to BMW I would check all the error/warning codes that provided. I bet either your sensor isn't working properly or Fuel System isn't building enough pressure to operate properly but not enough to trigger CEL. I know, I am not much of a help but just trying to give you something to think about.
