2012 550i Map UPdates

Hi - Newbie here. Just bought a 2012 550i/dark blue (fun car!).

Maps are original 2012. Can someone point me to best way to update?

Any other advice for this car appreciated.

Thank you.

Don

I’m guessing you are not familiar with coding; if you were you can update the nav yourself by retrieving the FSC code and downloading the map version of your choice. Your only option at the moment is either go to the dealer and fork over your liver for an update or search this forum for a reputable person offering the nav update service. If you are in the dallas area I can do it for you as well

Thank you. i did find some info yesterday (on generating a fsc code, and downloading maps). I extracted a small file to usb - plugged it into the glove box connector, and the car generated two new files on the usb drive. The .hex file however was the wrong size (1kb), and the keg generation tool would not accept region or map fields i believe because the .hex file was the wrong size. Tried this twice and same thing happened.

The map files are rather large and usually take well over 30 minutes to install.

PM me if you are needing the 2019 Road Map North America Premium (CIC) or 2019-1 Road Map North America Next (NBT) download links.
