Coding Headlight f10

I might need to replace my headlight on my f10 (glass is cracked). Can someone help me understand what the recoding process is please? My questions are? The car has adaptive headlights and autoleveling.

-Can i recode a used headlight with e-sys?

-if i buy a cheap -ish chinese version, can i just transfer all the modules and bulbs to the new headlight? And if so, will they need to be recoded or will the car just see them as the old headlight?

-does anyone have a link to a reliable aftermarket unit they have used?

Thank you!

Yes you can replace the headlight without any coding needed. The Headlight has a little ECU that is bolted into the back of the headlight. When your new light just put your ECU into that light. Just make sure you are getting the same light. They have Halogen, HID and LED Headlights. Do you have a picture of the damage to your light?

if i could find a flooded headlight i can just transfer everything over from mine. everything still works in it. it's the adaptive bixenon kind and even that still works. i really don't want to spend 1500$ on a new headlight if i don't have to.

They would, however i have a 1000$ deductible and 3 other cars on my policy. I think with all the costs combined, i’m better off just fixing it myself.

Honestly go on ebay. Get your self front glass for like 30 bucks, remove the headlight, remove the glass by removing silicon. Go to auto part store get a tube of silicon and reattach the new glass.

My driver side headlight was keep filling up with water condensation, so i did this diy my self and saved 1200+.
