Hi Guys
I have a 2015 535d msport following a G30 530d. Only thing I miss about the G30 is the adaptive matrix LEDS. Whoever specced my car from new forgot to tick the Auto High beam assist box. It seems this can be coded and is an option in the BimmerCode app. Question is does my car have the necessary hardware/ cameras etc ( it has the standard auto lights / wipers etc)?
I am guessing it will work as there are instructions on the Bimmerpost threads on how to switch the auto on/off using the existing stalk?

You need the KAFAS or FLA cameras. Are there any cameras around the rear view mirror that you can see? If not, HBA is off the table for you.

As for coding, you can only code it so it's default state is on. You can pseudo-toggle it by flicking the high beams to disable it, and then turn off and on the headlights to turn it back on again. The proper way to toggle it is to VO code a new SZL that has the HBA button. The bimmerpost thread is diving really deep into flashing new firmware onto a SZL for the button to work on just a stalk retrofit, and imo is not worth it versus just buying a used SZL that comes with HBA.

Unfortunately, that's just the automatic rain sensor.

This is KAFAS:



This is FLA:



Unless you retrofit FLA/KAFAS (almost everyone goes with KAFAS) you're out of luck for HBA

So if I have KAFAS2 I can activate the HBA? I mean, don't you need KAFAS + FLA? Or FLA is for the cars that don't have KAFAS? Thank you!

KAFAS is a more advanced version of FLA. If you have KAFAS, you can activate HBA.
