Yes, I got it done. Total cost was about $1,700 with a few additional cables. The installation itself was pretty straightforward. Worst part was waiting for the items to arrive from Russia, but the guys were great with remote coding.
Before that I had the Bimmertech Carplay/Android Auto, and for about $1,000 more, this was absolutely worth it. The resolution is so much better and the added touch screen, touch Idrive controller added a nice "touch" (no pun intended.) Only thing I lost out on was Sirius XM radio. |

To make it reusable in another application i have i stalled a screen protector on the screen before glueing it to the frame and build a custom bracket on the back. I would use a g01 screen as it's a bit smaller and easier to fit in. |

Looks great but im sure you thought of trying to install it in the same spot as the OEM screen right? Was this a hard no due to the dimensions or you think you could have installed it in the OEM spot? I'm thinking about it even though I just completed the NBT retrofit, the EVO with the CarPlay is quite enticing..

Need help with NBT Evo pinout
Hi all,
I have installed NBT Evo and all works nice, but my car (2012 F06 640i) has analog TV tuner and DVD changer. Could someone advice where in quadlock I need to plug in video input from them? I don't have videomodule and car is pre-LCI, so have some struggles with reading schemes in newTIS. |

There should be only two FBAS port on the quad lock for NBT/NBTEVO, one at pins 21(+),24(-),23(Shield) the other on pins 27(+),28(-),26(Shield). If you switched from CIC, the move your video pins from current location to the ones I just mentioned. The next step would be to change/edit the "werte" setting in HU NBT EVO and try to see which one of the 4 settings works. (Could be Werte 41, 42,43 or 7 I think). You can try one at a time and see which one works. For me, I have NBT only and I have Nivi on 42, TRSVC on 41, DVD on 43.

I’m a bit confused....So is there a hole where the original screen was? Because otherwise, how did you get the cables to the new screen if the old screen is still attached, because there would be no space to pull the cables from.???

Hey, that looks awesome. I recently did an install but like your backing much better. How did you do that? Would you be willing to fabricate and sell another one?

This is what I did after I posted that - I ordered this panel, which will cover most of the back and allow me to properly mount the Evo screen. It will probably take a few weeks to get it, but I think it's the best way to ensure that it looks as OEM as possible.
The hole on the plate of my original screen was much bigger, so there was still a big gap, which is why I didn't use it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-OEM-ORI...3269%7Ciid%3A1 |

I finally received my 6.5" plastic cover from Belarus today, and am getting close to finishing the project. It is not 100% yet as I need to fix some rough edges, but I would say it's 95% done.
Hands down this is my favorite mod so far on the car because I use it on a daily basis. I had the Bimmertech Android Auto/Apple Carplay on my NBT unit, but this experience with the G01 screen is so much better. |

It looks good. Did you put any backing plate on the sides of G01 screen? It is hard to tell on the pics if there is a black plate or a hole.
