I didn't...I just tried my damnedest not to overspray. Truth be told, there was probably some, especially on the X-drive emblem, but not enough to bother me. If I had more patience I could have done a couple more coats with a little less spray but all in all I was happy with the result. The wonderful thing about plasti-dip is that if you screw up you can always remove and try again.

I'm pretty sure you can use some liquid wax to get it off. Don't know for sure because I spent a lot of time getting it masked off.

Black wheels

Finally got my black wheels to finish the black out. Went to 18" none run flats, too many pot hole in the NE. Package at tirerack was about $1500 after rebate, 245/45R18 Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season.

Luckily I found a torn CV boot in the process, was able to replace just the boot, $22.

One thing I'll say after using Plasti dip for the first time is that it does not feel as it will last long. Not sure I would ever do it on wheels.

I did the same thing to my old 535xi and the badges lasted for two years no problem (and even longer, don't know because I sold it).

It was pretty easy with the longest part covering the trunk and bumper with newspaper to make sure I didn't get excess dip anywhere.

lacquer thinner can help remove overspray. This helps with sticky residue after debadging also. Ive used it before never hurt my paint either.

Looks good! I've yet seen in person a F10 with splash guards

Finally got it in to have an M5 exhaust installed. Still too quiet!! I should have waited for a competition exhaust. It does sound better than stock and I like that they made it work with my stock diffuser. I am going to tie the flaps open and see if that helps. I also need it to quit raining every day so I can wash it.

Nice! The exhaust note should change once you get the flaps to stay open. If you want it louder maybe remove the stock resonators.

The m5 exhaust does sound better with the flaps open (end of video), I couldn't tell much of a difference with the stock exhaust. I am thinking about something like the Exhaustmeister or Valvetronic flap controller. I would like them open all the time except for long trips on the highway.

I made the flap controller myself from a cheap remote controlled relay that I bought from ebay. No need to pay hundreds of dollars to just open and close the flaps.

That is what I would like to do, always default to open unless I close them on long highway trips. What relay did you buy?

Put on M6 GC Comp Catback exhaust...

Surprisingly a DIRECT fit onto the F10. I was thinking it might need to be cut or bent, but it fit perfectly!

Are the original photos not rotated? If not you can easily open them in MS Paint and click the Rotate button on the top left. re-upload them afterwards.
