Fresh blood for the Ferrari PU at Imola ! #JetMode

On a serious note :
Imola will be very crucial in the WDC !

•25 driver points for the race winner
•8 driver points for the sprint race winner
•1 driver point for the fastest lap

25 + 8 + 1 = •34 driver points !

Good news! I suspected it to be a failure rather than human error, there's no way the mechanics could've messed that up.

That should solve the fuelling woes for RB now.

I agree, F1 mechanics are the best of the best and unlikely to fit some parts without due care and attention.

Yeah, and there's no way a fuel hose can be that complex to install. Either it's a push lock fitting or a threaded one.

So I expect redbull to be back on track.

Looks like there may be an investigation into the Haas/Ferrari partnership, three teams have called on Fia to question the apparent quick increase in performance from the Haas team.
Red Bull is not thought to be one of those complaining.

Most likely the mid field guys getting smashed by Haas - which no one expected to be so fast lol.

Maybe, could be idk, IDC if Haas is innocent it will be proven and then thats that.

BTW the ferrari super fast tech doesn't refer to the engine itself it refers to how the prechamber ignition system lights the fuel vapors at the edge of the cylinder (and combustion occurs instantly because of this new design making it super fast) and the ring of combustion burns inwards rapidly causing a faster (again where the super fast comes from) more efficent and more powerful combustion process. This has yielded alot of the gains for ferrari this year.

This system was talked about alot by Honda last year when they improved upon their prechamber ignition system, and it is speculated merc had this system for the longest time which is why they were so far ahead. But now that everyone seems to have caught up, merc has lost their edge.

With Ferrari arriving at Imola Leclerc has taken on the role of Ferrari 'calmer downer' and asked the team to concentrate on their job seing it's a home GP, the unofficial number one status has made him into a spokesman lol He'll have his hands full soon battling with Max and an unhappy Sainz

He'll battle max for sure, unless Ferrari pull massive upgrades and just walk the field like in Australia. But Carlos idk, I think he's not adapting to the car well and the confidence light be gone. So at this point I doubt Carlos can challenge Leclerc, and when he does Ferrari might order him back if max is too close so they can secure the drivers title as well.

If a team say there won't be any updates and they then turn up with updates would that be against Fia ruling?

I have no clue, but I would say no because teams have to report all upgrades for show and tell now. So as long as they don't hide anything on the declaration and subsequently get caught during the insepction then it will be fine.

So there really isn't an incentive to lie because they will have to show it all anyways.

So if they did hide it well and they don't need to show them no one would know apart from other teams who know what to look for in the way the car handles and even if they were discovered by inspection then probably nothing would become of it.
I'm just keeping the basics as I can't see a team wanting to let on anything if they don't have to and if they are discovered then so what?

Well technically they can't hide it well because cars are subject to random tests where they are teared down to their individual pieces, and if the parts don't match the FIA CAD data on the car (which are updated during show and tell when the teams bring in parts - previously whenever new parts were brought in) then they will be DQ'ed. So if a team hid parts, and the FIA inspected the car and compared it to the last CAD models supplied by the team, which will not show the upgrades because they were hiding it, then they will be dq'ed. Also the mandate says all upgrades and changes will have to be reported for all to see, so the teams can't hide things between themselves and the FIA either. (Really good news for the engineering fans like myself)

So there is no reality where they can hide these parts. The FIA are crazy and will tolerance check things down to less than a mm, which is why merc failed the wing test on the right side of hamilton's car last year. These tests are no joke.

So there's no escape for anyone and the threat of DQ keeps everyone in line. If inspectors stripped a car down, depending on how much, I guess the teams techs would put it all back together again rather than the inspectors themselves.

Theoretically yes there should be no escape or cheating, could someone find a way - maybe, but it'll eventually get caught like the Ferrari oil burning scenario and patched up. If it was major like a team won a championship because of it then law suits would likely occur and bankrupt the team and probably cause them to shutter their doors or at the very least rebrand or resell. It didn't happen with Ferrari because they didn't win anything. Also the Ferrari debacle was electronic and software trickery not a physical part cheat so there's that.

Actually team mechanics will be doing the stripping while the inspectors watch and tell them how far to break it down. Clearly the inspectors aren't going to be doing the wrenching. So they'll just have the teams tear it down to bits and look at all the individual components.
