2011 F10 with Halogen upgrade advice
I have a 2011 528i with halogen lights. Sort of gave up on trying to upgrade to Xenon lights due to cost of OEM retrofit and bad results from other users with aftermarket options.
I just came across the following on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/122333635704...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Seller states only coding needed. Anyone have any experience with this product? Recently my front right angel eye stopped working. Was told by a shop that the whole headlight would have to be replaced since the angel eye cannot be replaced separately. thanks. |

Probably the same retrofit Umnitza is selling. Someone installed a set of those already and seemed pleased. Time will tell how they hold us though.
I don't have any specific experience with non-xenon F10 headlamps but I can't imagine the halo light source being non serviceable. I suspect it is a H3 / H8 halogen bulb like every other base model BMW headlamp. |

I thought the same but seems like the 2011 F10 with halogen has the bulbs for the angel eyes built inside the headlight, The Xenon versions all have separate bulbs that can be replaced.
Found it in the following link: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...=466824&page=3 That is why I am considering these Xenon headlights on ebay. To replace the entire halogen headlight, its going to cost me a few hundred dollars. |

i guess it depends on the year made , i believe earlier halogen models had those HALO LIGHT BULBS built kinda thing , where if it goes bad u cant really do anything , and later models i believe got H8 bulbs for halos.
my friends driver side halo rings arent working , he took it in the dealer , and they said that headlight control module needs to be replaced to make it work again. (and thats what they said above also ^) how much is the umnitza ones? if not that big of a difference id go with Umnitza , since its a more trusted site , and someone have done this already. ..and if you get the complete headlight assemblies , just make sure connectors are the same , if they are , im sure only coding will be needed. |

Let us know what you find out. I also have a 2011 528i with halogens and would like to upgrade the angel eyes to be brighter. I haven't taken my headlights apart to see what is there, but haven't noticed any bulbs available for the upgrade. Stuck, I should have had you and Alex give this a look when my car was in the shop last month.
