I hate to beat a dead horse, 535i Quad Exhaust tips
I have been searching for a few days now online, and in this forum, to find a set of nice looking quad exhaust tips. I would like to keep my exhaust stock for now and just add the quad tips. I am familiar with all the "issues", I am looking for a set up with the 3.5 inch exit. Every suggestion/post I have read either has the 3inch which is too small, or other suggestions for tips that are too long. Judging by looking the overall length would have to be somewhere less than 7 inches to not stick out like crazy. Any suggestions for a clean 3.5 inch quad look would be helpful.
Before responding Cyba is too small (3inch), I don't want custom mufflers right now, and DiMisaTips no longer makes quads for us. |

Looks good. After a few days of searching I found a guy that makes custom tips, in the 3.5 inch chrome that I was looking for. They should get delivered today. I'll put up some pictures and when I get them installed. The great part is the overall length is just 5.5 inches Which leaves more than enough room to manipulate.

Hey tips arrived today, here are some pictures. I will most likely get them installed in early Jan. They are going on a 2012 535xi non m-sport. Which means I am going to have to cut the bumper. I can't really find a diffuser I like that has vertical fins. The only choices I see are the Hamann and 3D.

5.5inch deep so they fit great with a little play room. 2.5" in to dual 3.5" out. With these just eye balling it, there is still 2 inches of play between the muffler and edge of the bumper for a flush look.

Yes, please let us know where you ordered. I will be looking for similar tips in black finish.

This is where I ordered from. Tell them Will sent you. I have an appointment set for this Saturday 12/28/13 to get them installed. So we will see how it goes, so far based on the measurements it very looks promising. I will put up before and after pictures when I get back in town. These tips are made to fit a Porsche, it just so happens the measurements fit. |

LOL, yeah I know right. Its a lot for just a "look". But we will see. One good thing, if they are not damaged and do not provide the quad look I am looking for he would take them back. At that point I would just do the full m tech bumper conversion and mufflers with actual quad exhaust. |

^Those look great. Seems a good alternative for those not looking to swap out for a quad exhaust. i.e. Those with leases..

Damn, that looks really good, but the price for the tips is just a little hard to swallow. How was the install? How long did it take and what did it end up costing you?
And more pics would be great too. |

Tips Roughly $400, labor for cutting the bumper and welding tips $345. It took about 6hrs (I had to wait). Now I am new to VA, so I didn't have alot of time to search for a better shop or recommendations and I am very impatient. I seriously could have done all of this myself. Also $345 was way to high ( I was probably charged this because I pulled up in a BMW). It should have been no more than $200 and a 2hr job if that) I had to wait in line because the shop was over booked. But I am satisfied with the end result so I won't complain too much (It looks OEM).......but I won't recommend them unless you just have time to waste around all day.
Also the tips are bolt on, I choose to have them welded. If I pay $400 for tips they better not go anywhere. The beauty of these if you see the pictures there is still about 1.25 inches of pipe off the muffler, the process is reversible if you choose. |
