Fast Route vs. Efficient Route
Manual states Fast Route is a combination of the shortest route plus the fastest roads while Efficient Route is a combination of the fastest and the shortest routes.
Anyone know which is more likely to use highways? I'm a bit confused. Thanks! Last edited by dbs600; 08-15-2016 at 11:05 PM.. |

All I know is fastest route wanted to take me 6 hours out of the way when I got the car and drove it home. It has 2011 maps on it, but it was WAY off on route.
In theory fastest should be freeway, I think that was part of my problem at one point. Google had me going straight line home, car said freeway and kept trying to route me back to it, even though non freeway (Google) route was an hour less at that point. |

I've tried NAV directions in multiple cars, Google maps has worked best by far. We will use nav in car but not without double checking it's route against Google. Often ignore some of its commands and stay true and it will catch on eventually. Funny watching the nav keep telling me to turn around for hours, get up to 4.5 hours till destination, then conform to my route all of a sudden and drop to 75 min to dest...

Nevertheless, my 2015 navigation on my f02 is awesome. So long as you always select a destination every time you get in your car, this thing saves hours. |
